How to Download Java in Windows 64bit?

  • Go to this link: Java Free Download (official oracle site’s link)  and click on Download button.
  • Check java SE development kit box and now you see windows option where you have to download .exe file by accepting license Agreement.
  • Now you can see the file is being downloaded after clicking that link, Install .exe file.
  • Now you can see Java folder added in your computer at C:\Program Files\Java and here you can see jdk folder.
  • Go to that jdk folder and click on bin folder ad copy the location which would appear like this C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_91\bin
  • Now its time to add path, for that follow this:Control Panel > System and Security > System > Advanced System Settings
  • Now you can see a box popup, there you select Environment Variables, now select the Path option from System variables and click on EDIT

  • Now select NEW and enter the copied address and click OK.
  • Now check whether java is properly installed or not by going to command box where you have to enter java -version and hit enter.
C:\Users\Your Name>java -version
  • If you see something like below lines,  then java is installed on your computer.
java version "1.8.0_151"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_151-b12)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.151-b12, mixed mode)

Where to Compile & Run Java Programs?

To run Java programs, you can use just a notepad and command box or you can also use IDEs such as Eclipse,Netbeans and some other free software.
